Global Harvest Church is a Christ-centered, multicultural church, fueled by the captivating gospel that transforms lives, families, communities, and nations. Located in Carrollton, TX in the Dallas / Ft. Worth metroplex, we welcome those from all cultures and walks of life as we make the gospel of Jesus Christ known for the glory of God. No matter where you are in your spiritual journey, we're here to meet you where you are.
OUR HISTORY
Global Harvest Church (GHC) in Carrollton, TX began as a natural and progressive outgrowth of the ministry of New Song Church (formerly called Korean First Baptist Church of Dallas). When New Song Church (NSC) first began in 1975, the church focused primarily on the first-generation Korean-speaking community. In response to a need to minister to second-generation English-speaking members, NSC began an informal English Ministry (EM). In 1996, GHC was formally established from the EM, as an autonomous church with a full-time pastor and staff.
Our congregation ranges from families with children to college students. While today a majority of our congregants are Korean-American, we have a mixed representation of nations, and the door is open to all nationalities and ethnic groups. The focus is not to be a "Korean American" or “Asian American” church, but a Christ-centered church fueled by the gospel that embraces people of all backgrounds and cultures. We come together as one body and one family for the purpose of knowing the only true GOD and fulfilling the great commission of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ (Mat. 28:18-20).
In 2006, both congregations relocated from North Dallas to the Fairway site in Carrollton (4220 Fairway). While sharing the same campus, GHC was autonomous from New Song, but enjoyed a harmonious relationship, sharing resources and participating in events and various ministries (i.e. VBS, Fall Festival, Missions, etc.) over the years.
In June of 2014, GHC multiplied from NSC and relocated to its own facility (Valwood Pkwy) in Carrollton where it stands today. It is a blessing and privilege for GHC to serve God and welcome all people in the Dallas / Ft. Worth (DFW) area.
OUR AFFILIATIONS
Global Harvest Church is affiliated under three denominational umbrella organizations:
- The Dallas Baptist Association (DBA) - Citywide
- The Baptist General Convention of Texas (BGCT) - Statewide
- The Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) - Nationwide
SOUTHERN BAPTIST CONVENTION (SBC)
The SBC is the largest association of Christian churches in both Texas and America. One out of every 10 churches in America is affiliated with the SBC, which includes 40,000 churches and 15 million members (more than most other denominations combined).
It is also the most diverse association of churches, including various race, nationality, and ethnic groups. Each Sunday, services are held in over 80 languages in the US.
Why not just be an independent church?
Every SBC church is completely independent. There is no denominational control or hierarchy, as there is in most other denominations. Each church is self-governed and determines its own affairs.
For example:
- Every SBC church chooses its own pastor.
- Every SBC church owns its own buildings and assets.
- Every SBC church determines its own programs.
Advantages of SBC Affiliation
Our affiliation with the SBC allows for us to identify with other Christians around the world who are known for their commitment to the Bible. Unlike other groups, the SBC has no man-made “creed”. The Bible is our only authority.
This also allows our church to participate in the largest missionary organization in the world. Through the SBC Cooperative Program, we help support over 7,500 missionaries in 104 countries around the world.
