Steve Shin

Elder

Steve grew up in Irving, Texas, and attended college at the University of Texas at Austin earning his bachelor's degree in Fine Arts. Upon graduating, he went on to receive a M.Div. from Southwestern Theological Seminary in 2006. He met his beloved wife Linda while attending college at UT Austin and they have been married for 20+ years. God has blessed Steve and Linda with two children, Natalie and Paul.

Though saved in middle school, Steve's faith developed in pieces. His love and fascination of the Word was present early, but reconciling what he saw and experienced as a teen at church was a bit difficult. He came to a better relationship with God and the church in college as he saw the love of God flow out of a Christian community. Today, Steve’s greatest passion is to witness God bringing people the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

Steve has served at different churches throughout the DFW area as everything from a youth minister, praise leader, college minister, and singles minister. In addition to formal church leadership positions, Steve has also served in various bible study ministries, discipleship ministries, and marriage ministries. Currently he leads GHC's kitchen and food ministry, and serves on the elder board. Steve also owns 2 restaurants which he uses as platforms to try and engage his communities for Christ.

Outside of ministry and his restaurant business, Steve enjoys spending time with his family, cooking at home, training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and taking leisure rides on his motorcycle.
